Happiness Smells Like......

A 64 pack of Crayola crayons.

I think that Robert Fulghum summed it up nicely.....

“Maybe we should develop a Crayola bomb as our next secret weapon. A happiness weapon. A Beauty Bomb. And every time a crisis developed, we would launch one. It would explode high in the air — explode softly — and send thousands, millions, of little parachutes into the air. Floating down to earth — boxes of Crayolas. And we wouldn't go cheap, either — not little boxes of eight. Boxes of sixty-four, with the sharpener built right in. With silver and gold and copper, magenta and peach and lime, amber and umber and all the rest. And people would smile and get a little funny look on their faces and cover the world with imagination.

I cracked these open today for Mr K, and the smell reminded me of being a kid, and I ran over to Mike and waved them under his nose. And for once, instead of thinking that I was his little strange duck (which I still am, of course) , he completely agreed that the smell was reminiscent of childhood days. Mr K must have thought we were the strangest parents ever, standing by the kitchen sink, sniffing his crayons, with these goofy grins plastered on our faces.

"Ummm, Mom?? Can I have my crayons?I wanna color my Monsters book"

Right, not my crayons.... I couldn't find bronze tho, tomorrow I am going to have to go thru the box...but I sure whipped out the silver and gold and started coloring with my boy. And was corrected that Sully was NOT, in fact, gold, but was a BLUE monster. Sheesh. Sniffs crayons AND doesn't know her colors.
